Why Humans Thrive on Animal Products: The Carnivore Diet

by 11 Mar 2025

Humans are a unique bunch, aren’t we? We’re the only species on the planet that can reshape the world around us – for better or worse. Sure, we’ve got some similarities with the animal kingdom, but there’s a whole lot that makes us stand out. One of those things? Our ability to pick and choose our lifestyle – and that includes what we shove on our plates.

Fast-forward to today, and it seems everyone’s got an opinion about what we should eat. Some are jumping on the plant-based bandwagon, some are all about processed junk, while others (like us) have figured out that simplicity and efficiency often taste better than all the fluff. Enter the carnivore diet.

Why Humans Are Designed to Thrive on Animal Products: A Case for the Carnivore Diet

Now, here’s the burning question: Are humans really designed to thrive on a plant-based diet? Or does our biology actually scream for more meat? Let’s dive into why we’re built for a diet rich in animal products, how eating animal-based foods can seriously boost our health, and why sticking to this kind of eating might just be the way forward for us – and the planet.

“Humans are uniquely designed to thrive on a diet rich in animal products, providing the bioavailable nutrients our bodies need. Our digestive system is built to efficiently metabolise animal-based proteins and fats for optimal nutrient absorption and energy production.”

The Human Body’s Natural Preference for Animal Products

Let’s get one thing straight—humans are omnivoresBut just because we can eat both plants and animals doesn’t mean we’re equally good at it. The human body might tolerate a bit of greenery, but it absolutely thrives on animal products. Don’t believe me? Let’s dive into the facts.

Evolutionary Evidence: A Long History of Animal Consumption

Let’s face it—our ancestors weren’t out there munching on salads, sipping on kale smoothies or chasing down avocados. No, they were out there hunting, scavenging, and eating animal proteins—and they were doing just fine. Sure, they probably snacked on a fruit or two, but their diets were packed with fats, proteins, and organ meats—you know, the kind of food that actually does something for your body.

Let’s talk anatomy for a second. If we were meant to be munching on grass all day, we’d have teeth more suited to chewing hay than tearing through meat. But here we are, with sharp incisors and molars perfect for slicing and dicing animal flesh. Our jaws are more about omnivorous or carnivorous action than grinding up leaves, and our digestive tract? Shorter than that of a herbivore because we don’t need to slow-cook those fibrous plants. Our stomach acid is also stronger, making it easier to handle the meat and protein we were built to consume.

Oh, and let’s not forget about our love affair with saturated fats. Unlike some creatures that might struggle with plant fats, we metabolise animal fats like nobody’s business. Our bodies know exactly what to do with them—fuel.

Nutrient Density in Animal Products

Now, here’s where things get interesting. The real magic behind animal products lies in their bioavailability—that’s a fancy term for “how easy it is for our bodies to absorb and use the nutrients.” Animal foods—meat, organs, eggs, dairy—are packed with nutrients that are either absent or poorly absorbed from plant sources. Let me break it down for you:

  • Complete Proteins: Animal products are the gold standard when it comes to protein. They’ve got all nine essential amino acids, which means they’re the most reliable protein source for humans. No need to overthink it—just the good stuff, all in one package.

  • Vitamin B12: This one’s non-negotiable. Vitamin B12 is crucial for brain function and red blood cell production—and it’s found only in animal foods. So, if you’re skipping out on meat, you’re missing a pretty important piece of the puzzle.

  • Iron: Heme iron from animal products is absorbed way better than plant-based iron. So if you’re relying on spinach, good luck. It’s high in oxalates, which basically block the iron. It’s like trying to fuel a race car with dishwater.
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Ruminant animals like cows and lamb are packed with omega-3s that your brain needs. These fats reduce inflammation and keep you sharp. Skip them, and you’re asking for brain fog. It’s not a coincidence.

The beauty of consuming animal products is that you’re getting these nutrients in their most bioavailable form—your body doesn’t have to work overtime converting them. They’re ready to go, without the interference of the pesky anti-nutrients and inflammation-causing compounds that often come with plants.

“Our teeth, digestive tract, and metabolism show that humans are biologically suited for animal-based foods. Our stomach acid and shorter digestive tract further highlight the body’s preference for animal proteins and fats, ensuring efficient nutrient absorption.”

Free Will and the Choice of Diet: Navigating Health and Society

Let’s get straight to the point—free will is what makes us human. We get to decide what we eat, how we live, and what we believe. But here’s the truth: every choice has a consequence.

Right now, most people are choosing convenience—processed foods loaded with sugars and grains. Sure, it’s easy, but it’s wrecking our health. Obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and more are on the rise because we’ve fallen for the ‘easy choice’ that does more harm than good.

Then there’s the flip side: the growing movement towards the carnivore diet. People are saying enough to processed junk and embracing a diet of pure animal products. The carnivore diet isn’t just a trend—it’s a nutrient-dense, bioavailable way of eating that helps reduce inflammation, shed weight, and improve mental clarity. It’s about giving your body what it truly needs to thrive.

Free will isn’t just about choosing the easy option; it’s about choosing what’s right for you. And sometimes, that means stepping away from what’s convenient and embracing what’s truly nourishing.

“By consuming animal products, we receive a cleaner, more efficient form of nutrition, bypassing the inflammatory reactions caused by plant-based foods.”

Why Is Veganism Pushed So Much? MY OPINION

I believe veganism is pushed so much because, at the end of the day, it weakens you. It leads to nutrient deficienciesyour body and brain don’t get what they need to function properly. Without the full spectrum of nutrients that animal products provide, your energy dips, your mental clarity takes a hit, and your body becomes more vulnerable.

But here’s the kicker: a society that’s nutrient-deprived, mentally foggy, and physically fragile is easier to influence. When you’re not operating at your best, you’re more likely to go along with whatever narrative is put in front of you.

So, while they market veganism as a “healthier” lifestyle, what they’re really selling is a model for a more compliant, weaker population. It’s not about your health—let’s leave it at that.

THINK. Don’t just accept what’s being pushed your way—use your critical thinking skills. Look beyond the surface and ask yourself, who actually benefits from this?

“Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, animal fat on the carnivore diet helps reduce brain inflammation, improve mood, and fuel both physical and mental energy.”

Embracing the Carnivore Diet: The Power of Personal Choice

At the end of the day, choosing a carnivore diet—or any diet, really—is about personal responsibility. We’re human, right? The only species on the planet that can take a random idea, turn it into reality, and shape our health and lives around it. We’re the architects of our own biology.

For some, that means a plant-based diet; for others, it’s a carnivore diet loaded with animal products. And that’s the beauty of being alive—we get to choose. We get to experience the consequences of our choices, whether that means thriving or falling flat on our faces.

But here’s the thing: every choice comes with its own set of consequences. If you decide to fill up on animal products—especially the nutrient-dense, bioavailable kind—you’re probably going to feel pretty great. It’s simple. What you eat can either work for you or against you.

So, choose wisely. The carnivore diet, with its focus on clean, nutrient-packed animal foods, is a solid option for anyone serious about optimising their health. But whatever you choose, just remember: you’re the one living with it, so make that choice count.
